Ryanair plane tyre bursts during take-off

A Ryanair plane made a dramatic emergency landing this morning after a tyre burst on takeoff.

The 8.05am flight to Dublin was just taking off from Edinburgh Airport when there was a loud bang, causing terrified passengers to scream.

The pilot veered sharply off course before returning to the runway to land.

Fire fighters rushed to the plane as the passengers were bussed back to the terminal.

Pieces of shredded rubber were spotted on the runway.

Edinburgh Airport said the aeroplane had landed safely and been checked over. They also carried out a safety sweep of the runway immediately after the landing.

Some passengers tweeted angrily about the wait they had to endure after the incident.

Tony Gowland said: “4.5 hours to replace a blown tyre, and just a £3.50 food voucher to apologise. Last time I fly @Ryanair.”
