Second man dies after taxi crash
A second man has died after a hijacked taxi crashed into a lock bridge along the River Liffey.
Gardai confirmed the victim, in his early 20s, died in the Mater Hospital in Dublin, where a third man is being treated for minor injuries.
Their friend, 23-year-old Daniel Lynch from Ringsend, was killed in the collision at North Wall Quay in Dublin's inner city at approximately 2.40am on Sunday.
The latest victim has been named locally as Dylan Lacey, also from the Ringsend area.
The car had been stolen from a taxi driver who was held up with a knife on Wapping Street off North Wall Quay.
The red Chevrolet sped off towards the city centre before the driver lost control and crashed directly outside the National Convention Centre.
Gardai have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
