Shotguns found in Kerry school roof

Two shotguns and cartridges have been found hidden in the roof of a school.

The firearms were recovered in a follow-up search after a sawn-off shotgun was found in a raid on a house in Tralee, Co Kerry, on Wednesday morning.

The weapons were found hidden behind the fascia board on the roof of a building at Scoil Mhic Easmainn Rahoonane in the town.

They had been wrapped in a blanket.

Detectives believe that the guns were stolen in a burglary on a house in Tralee.

A man in his 20s was being questioned over the seizure.
