Suspect held after man suffers head injury

Police have arrested a 27-year old-man on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, as a 22-year-old fights for his life in hospital.

Conan Anderson (22) had been at a nightclub in Belfast city centre until the early hours of Monday, February 5. Although he made it home to the Short Strand around 7.30am, his injuries became apparent later.

Yesterday, a PSNI spokesperson said they had established that an incident had occurred in the early hours of Monday morning in the Arthur Lane area. The spokesperson added: "A 27-year-old man was arrested in north Belfast on Thursday 9th February on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and was later released on police bail pending further enquiries.

"The injured man remains in hospital in a critical condition."
