Teenager taken to hospital after hit-and-run in Co Dublin

Gardai said the incident happened shortly before 7pm on Tuesday on the Swords Road in Malahide.

A teenager has been injured in a hit-and-run in Malahide, Co Dublin.

Gardai said the boy was walking along the Swords Road, the R106, when he was struck by a Blue Ford Focus with a 05-D registration plate.

The incident happened at about 6.55pm on Tuesday outside the entrance to Castle Heath.

The driver of the car failed to remain at the scene.

It is believed the car continued to travel in the direction of Swords following the collision.

The teenager was taken to Temple Street Children’s Hospital, where his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
