Three charged with tourist murder

Three men have been charged with murder over an attack that killed an Irish have-a-go hero on the island of Dominica.

A magistrate has charged the suspects in the killing of Joseph Costello, 43, from Dublin.

The trio were remanded to an island lockup.

Detectives say three masked men brandishing a machete, a hatchet and a plank of wood demanded money from a US couple outside their Pagua Bay House hotel and restaurant in Marigot.

Police say Mr Costello was attacked when he rushed to help.

Americans Rich and Alicia Davison were treated and released from a hospital.
