Three freed in double murder probe

Five people have been arrested in connection with the murders of Des Kelly and Breda Waters nearly a year ago.

Three males - two in their 30s and one juvenile - and two women - one in her 50s and the other in her late teens - were arrested in Limerick on Tuesday morning as part of an ongoing investigation into the murders.

The two women and the male juvenile were later released without charge.

The bodies of Mr Kelly and Ms Waters, who were both in their 20s, were discovered in a house at O'Malley Park in Limerick on the morning of January 9.

The two men arrested are being detained at Roxboro Road, Henry Street, Mayorstone and Bruff Garda Stations.

"A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions," said a Garda spokesman.

Two other men are currently before the courts charged in relation to the investigation.
