Three held over Tallaght shooting

Three men have been arrested over a shooting two years ago which left a young man severely brain-damaged.

Robert Delaney was blasted in the face with a shotgun as he looked out of an upstairs window when a gunman called at his home.

Two men, aged 31 and 57, are being held at Tallaght garda station and a third man, aged 32, in Ratharnham.

The three were detained after raids in south-west Dublin.

They were being held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act and can be questioned for 72 hours.

Mr Delaney, a father of two, was shot in the head when he looked out at the front door of his home in Tallaght in October 2008.

The attack was linked to a row in a pub a few weeks earlier.
