Ticketmaster boss O'Connor passes away

Tributes have been paid to Eamonn O'Connor, managing director of Ticketmaster Ireland, who has died after a short illness.

The 51-year-old Dubliner was a well-known figure in the Irish entertainment industry for many years.

As the head of the country's largest ticketing agency, he was involved in a variety of major music, entertainment and sporting events.

He is survived by his wife Breda, son David, mother Maureen, brothers Brian and Shay, and sisters Aileen and Mary.

Mark Yovich, president of Ticketmaster International, said: "Eamonn has been an irreplaceable part of the Ticketmaster family for more than 30 years. He was one of a kind and we will miss him terribly."
