Two held after huge drugs seizure

Drugs worth almost one million euro have been seized by gardai.

Two men aged 49 and 34 are being questioned at Clondalkin Garda Station over the haul of cannabis and tablets in Co Dublin.

A Garda spokesman said herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of 900,000 euro was seized at a house in Rathcoole at about 3.20pm today.

Approximately 10,000 tablets suspected of being controlled drugs were found during a follow-up search at the premises.

"These will be subjected to forensic analysis," said the Garda spokesman.

"The estimated total value of the seizure is 950,000 euro."

The raid was carried out after a joint intelligence-led investigation by the Garda National Drugs Unit and Revenue's Customs Service, with the assistance of the Store Street and Tallaght Garda Drug Units.
