Two held in Dublin as cash seized

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of links to a drug-trafficking and money-laundering racket.

A man in his 30s was detained after a car was stopped and searched in west Dublin on Tuesday night and gardai recovered 100,000 euro in cash.

In a follow-up operation in Co Kildare, a man in his 60s was taken into custody suspected of being involved in the laundering ring.

Both men can be held for about a week under section two of the Drug Trafficking Act. They are being questioned in Blanchardstown Garda station.

Meanwhile, a man in his 20s was being questioned over a million-euro haul of herbal cannabis seized from a van in Rathcoole, west Dublin, on Tuesday night.

He is also being held under section two of the Drug Trafficking Act in Clondlakin Garda station.
