Two held over crime boss murder

Two men have been arrested over the gangland shooting of a major crime boss in a pub.

Eamon Dunne was gunned down in front of terrified customers after two masked men entered the Faussagh House bar in Cabra on April 24, 2010.

He was shot six times in the head and body with bullets from an automatic pistol before the attackers fled the scene in a getaway car with two other men.

Gardai in Mountjoy carried out a number of searches in the city centre on Tuesday.

Two men in their late 20s have been arrested and are being detained under section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007 as amended at Mountjoy and Store St garda stations.

Dunne, 34, of Dunsoghly Drive in Finglas, was regarded as a major gangland player and detectives believe there could be various motives for the killing.
