Two men arrested over drugs haul

Two men have been arrested after a drugs haul valued at more than two million euro was seized, gardai said.

Detectives carried out raids in Naas, Co Kildare, and Carlow as part of an ongoing operation by the Garda National Drugs Unit.

They said a substantial amount of suspected cannabis resin and cannabis herb was recovered.

The total amount of drugs seized is believed to have a street value in the region of 2.1 million euro.

Two men - aged 47 and 35 - were arrested under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

They have been detained under section two of the Drug Trafficking Act in Naas and Carlow Garda stations.
