Two men hurt in Galway Courthouse 'stabbing'

Two men have been rushed to hospital after an apparent stabbing incident in a packed courthouse.

A row involving four men broke out in the foyer of Galway Courthouse at around 10.45am on Wednesday morning.

They are believed to be in their late teens or early twenties.

Two of the men were taken to University Hospital Galway "with what appear to be stab wounds", a Garda spokesman said.

It is not believed their injuries are life-threatening.

Two other men were arrested at the scene.

They are being held under section four of the Criminal Justice Act at Galway Garda station at Mill Street in the city.

They can be questioned for up to 24 hours before being charged or released.
