Two men injured in Dublin shootings

Two men have been shot in separate incidents in Dublin.

The first incident happened in a laneway off Cappagh Road in Finglas, north Dublin, at 12.50am early on Saturday morning.

A 42-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the upper leg.

He was taken to Connolly Hospital by ambulance and was later transferred to the Mater, where his condition is described as serious.

It is understood the man had left a friend's house when the shooting occurred.

There have been no arrests and gardai are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

In a separate incident, a man was shot in the leg in a yard at the back of a pub in Dolphin's Barn in south inner-city Dublin.
