Two women held after stab attacks

Two women have been arrested over separate stabbings.

A woman in her 30s was detained after a man in his 40s was injured in an attack at a house in Hamilton Way in Balbriggan, north county Dublin.

The incident, which happened at about 11.30pm on Tuesday night, was being treated as a domestic dispute.

The man was treated in Beaumont Hospital and his injuries were not life-threatening.

Gardai said the woman was released without charge and a file was being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

In the other attack, a 26-year-old woman was detained over a knife attack on a man in his 30s in the Cabra area of north Dublin.

The injured man was stabbed in Fassaugh Avenue at about 10.20pm.

He was treated in the Mater Hospital and his injuries were not life-threatening.

The woman was held by gardai overnight and released while a file is prepared for the DPP.
