Witnesses sought after woman attacked with chemical substance

A woman is being treated in hospital for injuries to her face and hands after being attacked with a chemical substance in Co Dublin.

The 32-year-old woman was walking on a path between Marrion Woods and Seamount Apartments in Blackrock when she was attacked at around 10pm on Friday, gardai have said.

They believe a caustic substance was used, resulting in injuries to her face and hands.

Gardai are appealing to walkers, taxi drivers, delivery drivers or anyone else who was in the Rosemount Terrace, Fosterbrook, Merrion Woods and Seamount Apartments areas between 9.30pm and 10.30pm on Friday who may have seen something suspicious or possibly captured relevant footage on a dash camera.

They are particularly keen to speak to a "heavy set" lone male in dark clothing who was in the area at the time. Members of the public can contact Blackrock Garda Station on 01-6665200.
