Woman and man held in murder probe after body found in house

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man’s body was found in Cork at the weekend.

A woman in her early 50s and a man in his early 40s were arrested on Tuesday.

The woman has been detained at Togher garda station while the man is being held at Mayfield garda station. Both are detained under the Criminal Justice Act.

The victim, who was in his 50s, was discovered in a house on Bandon Road in Cork City on Saturday.

Gardai launched a murder investigation after a post-mortem found he had “met with foul play”.
