A woman aged in her 20s has died in a house fire in Limerick, gardai said.

Emergency services were called to the scene at The Oaks, Riverbank, Annacotty at 3am on Monday.

The blaze was brought under control and the body of the woman, in her late 20s, was discovered in the house.

Her body was removed to Limerick Regional Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
