Woman held in murder probe released
A woman arrested over the murder of an elderly man she knew has been released without charge.
The 50-year-old woman, detained after Walter Plunkett was found dead in the garden of his Co Wexford home, was freed after being questioned for more than a day.
She was also psychologically assessed while in custody.
A Garda spokesman said a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Mr Plunkett, 84, from Ballyedmond, Monamolin, died on Sunday.
A post-mortem examination showed that he died from asphyxiation and that he may have been suffocated.
