Woman killed and two others badly hurt in Co Westmeath crash

A woman has been killed and two others are seriously hurt in hospital after a road accident in Co Westmeath, gardai said.

The dead woman, aged in her 20s, was driving one of two cars involved in a collision with a lorry in Hiskinstown, near Delvin, at 3.30pm on Saturday.

Her passenger,a woman also in her 20s, and the lone female driver of the other car, were taken to hospital. Gardai said they were both in a "serious" condition.

The male lorry driver was uninjured.
