RHI inquiry live blog: Arlene Foster asked for scheme closure to be delayed by two weeks, says Cairns
Former DUP special adviser Timothy Cairns has told the RHI Inquiry Arlene Foster asked for the scheme's end date to be pushed out by two weeks.
Mr Cairns was special adviser to then Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment Minister Jonathan Bell during the height of the RHI scandal in 2015.
During the morning session on Wednesday he said he had no "cynical or base" motives to delay cost controls for the RHI scheme.
During his evidence on Wednesday morning, Mr Cairns suggested that other people may have had motive for delaying cost controls.
On Wednesday's afternoon he discussed the period in early 2016 before the scheme was closed.
