Teenager killed in Lisburn crash

A 16-year-old girl has died after a road accident in Northern Ireland.

The victim, Elyce Lewsey from the Oakridge area of Lisburn, was killed in a one vehicle crash on the Stoneyford Road in Lisburn.

The incident took place at around 9pm on Friday night. Officers have appealed for any witnesses to come forward.

Her death takes to 83 the number of people who have lost their lives on the region's roads this year.

Meanwhile, a 20-year-old man seriously injured in a road crash in Newry nine days ago died in hospital today.

He was Daniel David McCormack from Castlewellan.

Police have renewed their appeal for witnesses to the fatal collision, which occurred on the Hilltown Road on Thursday October 23rd.
