Two men have been arrested in connection with the attempted murder of police in Strabane last month.
The 29-year-old and 43-year-old were arrested in the area this morning, November 18, as part of an investigation into a bomb attack on police in the Ballycolman area on October 23.
Police were called to the area following reports of a bomb at a pumping station.
It turned out to be a hoax but a second, viable device had been planted nearby in the garden of a house a short distance from a school. It was defused.
Detective Chief Inspector Michael Harvey, from Serious Crime Branch said: “A number of houses are being searched and two cars have been seized. The suspects have been taken to Antrim police station for questioning.”
