14 wannabes enter Big Brother house

A Harry Potter extra, a teenage female wrestler and a vegan holistic healer are among the contestants to have entered the Big Brother house.

The group of 14 wannabes also includes a trainee psychiatrist, a Tory entrepreneur and a Megan Fox lookalike who is a former Miss Manchester.

Bosses of the show, hosted by Brian Dowling, have aimed for a lower age profile as the series begins on Channel 5, with none of the contestants older than 30.

Seven men and seven women went in to the purpose-built house, to be sealed off from the world potentially for weeks. Each is aiming to make their mark and enjoy their few weeks in the spotlight with the hope of riches and fame, but with the danger of ridicule.

Channel 5 took over from Channel 4 which dropped the show last year after broadcasting it since its launch in 2000. The new home for the show has had a trial run with Celebrity Big Brother over the past three weeks - which was won by My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding star Paddy Doherty.

Contestants found out that former Baywatch star Pamela Anderson was in their midst for a brief appearance as the show launched.

The housemates include a teetotal belly-dancing gymnast Tashie Jackson, 21, who has been a Potter extra, while Faye Palmer, 19, is a competitive wrestler with a clown phobia who fights under the name of Darcy Steele.

Heaven Africa, 30, has been modelling since the age of nine and now works as a healer but reckons she will stop at nothing to win, declaring: "I'm determined to take the crown at all costs."

Housemates also include Louise Cliffe, 25, a legal secretary who took the Miss Manchester title wearing an £8 dress, and Harry Blake, 22, who runs three businesses and reckons he will bring a "touch of class" to the house.

Student Aden Theobald, 18 who is aiming to become a psychiatrist says he has a fetish for stilettos and claims to have an IQ exceeding 160, which would give him a higher score than Albert Einstein.
