Adele's 25 sets record for new album
Adele has been named the UK's biggest-selling artist after her new album became the fastest-selling record in British history.
The Oscar-winning Skyfall singer's third full-length record, 25, sold 800,307 copies in the first week of its release, surpassing Oasis's previous 18-year record.
The Britpop band, fronted by Liam and Noel Gallagher, sold 696,000 copies of their third album, Be Here Now, in August 1997.
Adele's album, which features the Number One single Hello, enjoyed one of the biggest first-day sales totals ever, selling more than 300,000 copies in 24 hours.
It is also the most downloaded Number One album in the Uk's history, shifting a massive 252,423 digital copies.
