Ask for seat 6A when you catch next flight
Researchers have identified the best seat on the plane - outside first class - as being 6A, following a survey of 1000 fliers based on a typical layout of an aircraft.
The seat, located at the window on the left-side of the cabin for its close proximity to the exit and suitable distance from the toilets.
The survey, by flight comparison website Skyscanner, identified the worst seat was 31E, a middle seat near the back of the plane.
Some 60% of fliers showed a preference for a window seat allowing them a good view during take-off, while four in ten opted for an aisle set to enable them to stretch out their legs.
