Bail for Nick Clegg paint charge man

A man appeared in court charged with assault yesterday after Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg was splattered with blue paint at a meeting of party members in Glasgow on Thursday night.

The Liberal Democrat leader later made light of the incident, saying it was "no big deal".

Stuart Rodger (22) from Inverkeithing, Fife, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court in connection with the alleged attack.

Rodger made no plea and no declaration.

He was granted bail.
