Beckham 'excited' about new baby
David Beckham has spoken of his excitement as he prepares to become a father for the fourth time.
The footballer said his pregnant wife Victoria, 36, who is due to give birth in the summer, is in excellent health and "feeling good".
Beckham, 35, is apart from the Spice Girl-turned-fashion designer as he limbers up for LA Galaxy's first game of the season next week.
He was asked about Victoria as he met young people being treated at the Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
"She's great, she's very healthy. She's feeling good. She's in London at the moment working. We're very excited. It's an exciting time for the family," he said.
The couple already have three boys, Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, eight, and Cruz, six.
Beckham said he had taken his children with him on hospital visits to show them that life can be hard.
"It's difficult at times, especially for the parents of children that are ill and don't have long to live. I think it's important that my children see that and they do, they're very respectful and they love visiting hospitals.
"They always pick toys out that are even their favourites that they take down to different kids in different hospitals. The boys love doing that."
The midfielder added that he is ready for LA Galaxy's match against Seattle Sounders FC on Tuesday, which kicks off the US Major League Soccer season.
