The body of a young girl has been discovered near a hospital in Scotland.
The four-year-old's body was found in the early hours of this morning at the rear of Raigmore Hospital in Inverness, Northern Constabulary said.
Police are treating the death as suspicious.
They are appealing for witnesses and have asked anyone who may have seen a woman walking with a small girl in the vicinity of Raigmore Hospital between 7pm on Tuesday and the early hours of Wednesday, to contact them.
The woman and child had been within the hospital, but were not patients.
Police are also seeking information from anyone who saw a woman, wearing a boiler suit, anywhere between the Raigmore Hospital area and Balloch on Tuesday night through to Wednesday morning.
A spokesperson for Northern Constabulary said: "Cordons are in place in the Raigmore area whilst investigations are carried out but police would like to stress that Raigmore Hospital is fully open. Sniffer dogs were used to search the out patients area of the hospital last night."
