Police investigating the disappearance of a Romanian-born woman have found a body in a wheelie bin.
Officers searching for 26-year-old Lidia Pascale made the discovery in West Bromwich after scouring open land and gardens around the town's High Street.
A police spokesman confirmed that the body was found in nearby Hope Street on the second day of an operation by search teams.
Chief Superintendent Mark Payne, of West Midlands Police CID, said: "Following searches we can confirm that we have found a body of a woman.
"An area of Hope Street has been cordoned off while forensic experts search the area. We are still in the early stages of identifying the woman. Officers will continue to liaise with Lidia's family and our thoughts are with them at this sad time."
Two men have been charged with murder in connection with the inquiry and will next appear at Birmingham Crown Court on February 18.
