Bowers denies drug ring involvement
Celebrity Big Brother star and former boy band singer Dane Bowers denied he was involved in a drugs ring after he was arrested during a police operation.
Bowers, 30, was one of seven people arrested on suspicion of conspiring to supply drugs by Greater Manchester Police.
The group were allegedly questioned over a plot to supply the party drug mephedrone, also known as meow meow, The Sun has reported.
A spokesman for Bowers, who once dated glamour model Katie Price, said: "Dane had no involvement whatsoever in the alleged criminal matters currently being investigated by the police, which have been reported in today's edition of the Sun.
"He is extremely confident that the matter will not proceed any further. The whole incident has come as a complete shock to Dane and it has caused considerable upset to his 12-year-old son and the rest of his family."
Bowers, from Croydon, south London, a 31-year-old man from Somerset, a 25-year-old woman from Bolton and a 46-year-old man from Staffordshire were bailed until January 11 2011, police said.
Three others, who were also arrested on Tuesday, were charged with conspiracy to supply drugs and appeared at Manchester City Magistrates' Court on Thursday. They were remanded in custody.
