Bristol: Drunk trio taken off Ryanair plane and arrested

By Peter Woodman

Two middle-aged women have been arrested for being drunk and disorderly on a late-leaving Ryanair holiday flight.

The 49-year-olds, who were apprehended with a 23-year-old man, were taken off the flight at Bristol Airport, further delaying its departure.

They were arrested after cabin crew called Avon and Somerset Police and asked them to board the plane, which was heading to Faro, Portugal, last night.

Police said: "Two 49-year-old women and a 23-year-old man have been arrested for being drunk and disorderly on a plane."

Chris Ware, head of security at Bristol airport, added: "The airport police team were requested by flight crew to attend a delayed departing flight to Faro.

"The airline requested the delayed passengers board the flight in anticipation of the air traffic slot time improving.

"Three passengers were removed from the aircraft and subsequently arrested."

A Ryanair spokeswoman said: "The crew of this flight requested police assistance prior to departure after three customers became disruptive."
