British tycoon 'shot dead' in Spain
A British millionaire has been found dead in his home on the Costa del Sol, police have confirmed.
The body of Andrew David Bush, 48, was found early on Saturday at a property near Estepona, west of Marbella, a spokeswoman said.
The businessman, whose interests included a jewellery shop in his former hometown of Bristol, was found shot dead at the house in Andalucia, the Times reported.
The police spokeswoman said: "I can confirm that an investigation is under way after a British citizen was found dead in a property near Estepona.
"So far no arrests have been made."
She added: "W e are not authorised to say any more at this time because investigations are ongoing."
Calls to Mr Bush's jewellery shop in Bristol's Galleries shopping centre went unanswered this morning.
Reports from Spain allege that Mr Bush was shot twice after returning home from a holiday with his girlfriend.
His friend, Paul Orchard, who had also been his personal trainer since September, told the Bristol Post he was "trying to comprehend" what happened.
He told the paper: "We struck a good rapport and I only spoke to him on Friday evening. We were going to meet next week.
"When I was first told, I questioned whether it was true and I kept on saying it can't be. Now I feel just a little bit empty, almost like I'm trying to put pieces together."
A Foreign Office spokesman said: "We are aware of the death of a British national in Estepona, Malaga, on April 5. We are in touch with local authorities and we are providing consular assistance to the family."
