Busker can now take credit cards

Music fans will be able to reward a London busker by credit card, rather than throwing cash into a hat in a drive to promote "contactless" technology and raise money for charity.

Peter Buffery, a student at Kingston University, south-west London, will use a specially-designed guitar for passers-by on London's South Bank to make donations to Help a London Child using Barclaycard.

The contactless cards allow customers to make purchases of £15 or less without having to use a payment terminal.
