Camilla gets to grips with 'a whopper' of a lobster
The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall came face to face with a lobster on a trip to the Isles of Scilly. The royal couple were visiting St Mary's when Camilla was handed a female European lobster during a tour of an island fair in Hugh Town.
The Duchess said: "Look at that - she's a whopper."
There was no danger of the lobster's sharp claws hurting Camilla as they were bound tightly together.
The crustacean is part of the Isles of Scilly Lobster and Crawfish Tagging Project, which is a European Fisheries Fund-sponsored study to monitor numbers.
Charles thanked the islanders for their hospitality, and said he had first visited as a small boy on the Royal Yacht Britannia.
"I hope there will be other occasions before we get too old and decrepit to walk round the island," he said.
