By PA Reporter

The official BBC Children In Need charity single, featuring an all-star choir of famous faces, has topped the charts.

This new choral version of Avicii's Wake Me Up, sung by choirmaster Gareth Malone's All Star Choir, was released last Monday and went straight in at number 1.

Actresses Alison Steadman and Linda Robson, EastEnders actor Nitin Ginatra, Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood, Countryfile's John Craven, Blue Peter's Radzi Chinyanganya, Bake Off co-host Mel Giedroyc, comedian Jo Brand, footballer Fabrice Muamba, rugby player Margaret "The Machine" Alphonsi, Radio 1 DJ Alice Levine and actor Larry Lamb are among the untrained voices who appear on the track.

They sing alongside children from music projects across the UK who have been supported by BBC Children in Need. The track has racked up a combined chart sales tally of over 120,000, as well as being the most physically purchased single of the week.
