Coronation Street star raped me while I held teddy, court told
A girl who claims Coronation Street star Michael Le Vell raped her as she clutched a teddy bear broke down in tears in the witness box as she told of the abuse.
Manchester Crown Court was told the actor, real name Michael Turner, allegedly told the girl: "It's OK, just keep calm, stay asleep. I'm going to get rid of the evil," as he sexually abused her.
Asked why she did not tell anyone, she replied: "Because he told me not to. It was our little secret."
Le Vell (48), who plays car mechanic Kevin Webster in the ITV soap, denies 12 charges – five of rape, three of indecent assault, two counts of sexual activity with a child and two of causing a child to engage in sexual activity.
Meanwhile, his co-star William Roache yesterday pleaded not guilty to committing historic sexual offences against five girls.
Roache (81) faces two counts of raping a 15-year-old girl in 1967, and five indecent assaults on four girls aged between 11 or 12 and 16, between 1965 and 1968.
