A man has been charged with perverting the course of justice in connection with the murder of a police constable.
Pc Neil Doyle, 36, died after he was allegedly assaulted in Liverpool city centre while off-duty on a night out with colleagues on December 19.
A spokeswoman for Merseyside Police said: "Merseyside Police can confirm that a 30-year-old man from Liverpool has been charged with perverting the course of justice following the murder of Constable Neil Doyle in December 2014.
"Stephen Vaughan, of Mariners Wharf, Liverpool, who is also charged with driving a motor vehicle with no insurance, will appear at Liverpool and Knowsley Magistrates Court today."
Three men have been charged with the murder of Pc Doyle and will reappear in court later this year.
