Dean Friedman rescued from car park in Belfast
Seventies hitmaker Dean Friedman can thank his lucky stars for the PSNI.
The New Jersey-born singer, famed for his hits Ariel (1977) and Lucky Star (1978), got stuck in a Belfast multi-storey car park after his Belfast gig on Friday.
Friedman had to send for the police to spring him after staff went home, locking him in for the night.
Friedman (63) recorded a Facebook video of himself, a pal and their dog trapped in the car park and shared it with fans.
They weren't all that sympathetic. "Must be a new song in this," commented one fan.
Eventually, a smiling PSNI officer showed up, turned on the lights and freed Friedman and his entourage from captivity.
"We're not paying the parking fee for this tomorrow," he joked.
