Fairy tale wedding as The Fall actress Seainin Brennan ties knot in Dromoland Castle
Belfast-born actress Seainin Brennan has married her long-term partner in fairy tale surroundings in what she described as the wedding of her dreams.
Seainin, who plays Liz Tyler - the abused wife of paramilitary thug Jimmy Tyler - in edgy BBC drama The Fall, married her boyfriend of four years at a lavish three-day affair at Dromoland Castle in Co Clare.
Seainin and her partner Ben Fetherston, who works for Citibank, were enjoying a romantic holiday earlier this year in the charming Alpine resort of Courmayeur when he proposed.
The couple had fallen in love with the town after a previous visit. Ben suggested returning to the resort, having decided it was the ideal place for the proposal.
And it must have worked, as Seainin said 'yes' straight away.
The 36-year-old actress, who was the winner of the Belfast Telegraph Woman of the Year Arts category in 2011, met her husband three-and-a-half years ago in a Belfast nightclub. They were friends for about six months, before they started dating. The 150 wedding guests, who flew in from all over the world, included Northern Irish television presenter Zoe Salmon.
The pair tied the knot last month during a romantic ceremony at St John's Cathedral in Co Limerick.
The wedding, which took just over six months to plan, was made up of all the things that were important to the couple, including tradition, culture and family.
Her beautiful, hand-made wedding gown was created by London-based couture designer Alan Hannah and his wife, Marguerite.
Her bridesmaids, sister Donna Sharratt and her daughters Alanna and Naomi, wore inky-blue dresses.
