Family 'heartbroken' over deaths

The family of a woman and her six-year-old daughter who were found dead at their home have issued a statement describing their devastation at the deaths.

In a statement issued by Warwickshire Police, relatives of Clare White and Ayesha White-Mukumbira said they were "heartbroken and shocked at the tragic loss of our beloved daughter and granddaughter".

The brief family statement, released as detectives confirmed that Ms White, 28, was found hanged, added: "We don't know, at this stage, what has happened other than we won't see either of them ever again."

Detectives are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths of Ms White and Ayesha, whose bodies were found by a visitor to their home in Christie Way, Stratford-upon-Avon, on Friday.

Officers were called to the end-of-terrace house at about 10am and are now awaiting the result of toxicological tests after a post-mortem examination on Ayesha's body proved inconclusive.

A spokesman for Warwickshire Police said: "Police are still treating the deaths as unexplained and are preparing a report for the coroner.

"They are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident."
