Feathers fly in 47 King Street West hen party meal tiff
A posh restaurant has got into trouble after reportedly telling customers they were "chavs" and "wouldn't know fine dining if it slapped them in their ugly faces".
Bride-to-be Melissa Grogan-Morgan, 27, had gone with her hen party of 17 family and friends for the meal at 47 King Street West, in Manchester city centre.
But after the bride and some of her party posted negative feedback about poor service on the restaurant's Facebook page on Sunday evening they were met with an unrepentant response.
The restaurant hit back that some of the hen party were more than an hour late, ignored the "no confetti" house rules and acted like "peasants wanting something off the bill as usual".
In posts now deleted, the restaurant continued the tirade by branding the hen party the "chaviest most vile people ever" adding they were: "Bottom of the barrel. What absolute trash they were. We pity the groom!"
The restaurant's Facebook and Twitter accounts appear to have now been taken off-line.
Ms Grogan-Morgan, from Stoke, said she had been left horrified by the response and "shocking" customer service.
No one was available for comment at the restaurant today, though a director has reportedly described the whole incident as, "regrettable".
