Footballer Andre Gray says sorry over anti-gay tweets
A Premier League footballer has apologised for homophobic tweets posted from his account.
Burnley striker Andre Gray said he wanted to ask for "forgiveness" from anyone offended by the comments, tweeted four years ago.
His comments came hours after he scored in Burnley's 2-0 win over Liverpool on Saturday.
In a statement the 25-year-old said he had changed in recent years, and was trying to become "a better person".
Gray said: "The tweets were posted four years ago when I was a completely different person... I can assure everybody I am absolutely not homophobic and I can only apologise and ask for forgiveness to anyone I offended."
