Foreign Office supports pool tragedy family
The family of a little girl who died after reportedly falling into a swimming pool on holiday in Spain is being supported by the foreign office, a spokeswoman has said.
The child, named by sources as two-year-old Isabella May Crump, died on Wednesday in the Costa Blanca region.
A Foreign Office spokeswoman could not confirm reports that the child died as her family slept during the day at a rented villa, but said: "We are aware of the death of a British national in San Miguel de Salinas, Alicante. We have offered consular assistance."
It is understood that the family, from Ludlow, Shropshire, has not yet returned to the UK.
The family are originally from England, but are understood to have just recently moved to Northern Ireland.
