Games fail to boost Tories and PM
Olympic glory has failed to translate into a political bounce for the coalition, according to fresh polling.
According to the ComRes poll for the Independent on Sunday and Sunday Mirror the Games made 71% feel proud to be British and more than half the public, 51%, believe the Olympics will probably boost the British economy.
But despite the UK's London 2012 success, Conservative popularity is up just one point to 33% while the Liberal Democrats remain unchanged on 10%.
David Cameron has seen no benefit, with his personal popularity remaining unchanged since last month on 27% but Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg has gone up by three points to 20%.
