Girl (14) savaged by dogs is laid to rest

A MOVING funeral service has been held for teenager Jade Anderson, savaged to death by dogs.

Hundreds of schoolmates, many shedding tears, joined her mother Shirley Lomas-Anderson, who led mourners into church for the service at St Clement's in Chorlton, Manchester. The 14-year-old is thought to have been eating a pie when she was attacked by two Staffordshire bull terriers and two bull mastiff dogs as she visited a friend's house in Atherton, near Wigan, during half-term holidays on March 26. After the hour-long service the coffin, in her favourite colour of pink, was carried to a hearse pulled by two white horses wearing pink plumes, for her final journey to Southern Cemetery in Manchester. Jade's friends helped raise funds for the funeral.
