Harry and Meghan release romantic photos to mark engagement

Prince Harry and his bride-to-be Meghan Markle have marked their engagement by releasing a series of romantic photographs.
An intimate black and white portrait of the couple embracing has been published alongside an endearing but more formal picture of the pair sitting together holding hands.
While a third picture, a more candid image showing them walking arm in arm, was released in recognition of the messages of support the prince and Ms Markle have received.
In an Instagram message posted alongside the final photograph, Kensington Palace said: “Thank you so much for all of the wonderful comments following the release of Prince Harry and Ms Meghan Markle’s engagement photographs.
“The couple are so grateful for the warm and generous messages they have received during such a happy time in their lives.

Harry and Meghan’s photographs were taken by fashion and celebrity photographer Alexi Lubomirski earlier this week at Frogmore House, Windsor.
The black and white image, taken in the grounds of the house, shows the prince and his fiancee smiling, and embracing as their heads touch.
Ms Markle, who on Wednesday joined Harry at a Christmas lunch for the royal family, holds the prince’s face, with her engagement ring prominent, as he wraps his arms around her.
The other photograph shows the couple, dressed smartly, sitting on the steps of Frogmore with the US former actress just below her fiance.
A huge thank you to His Royal Highness Prince Harry and Ms Markle, for allowing me to take their official engagement portraits. Not only was it an incredible honour, but also an immense privilege to be invited to share and be a witness to this young couple’s love for each other. I cannot help but smile when I look at the photos that we took. @Kensingtonroyal
Mr Lubomirski said: “It was an incredible honour to be asked to document this wonderful event, but also a great privilege to be invited to share and be a witness to this young couple’s love for one another.
“I cannot help but smile when I look at the photos that we took of them, such was their happiness together.”
The fashion choices made by Meghan have become must have items but the dress by Ralph and Russo, which she wears while sitting on the steps of Frogmore House, may stretch budgets as it reportedly costs tens of thousands of pounds, but is likely to have been loaned.
In the black and white image, she has chosen a sweater by Victoria Beckham while Harry is keeping out the cold in a Burberry coat.
The pictures were taken by a photographer who has the title His Serene Highness Prince Alexi Lubomirski.
He is descended from an influential Polish family who received the hereditary title of prince of the Holy Roman Empire from Emperor Ferdinand III in the 17th century.
Mr Lubomirski has made a career photographing the rich and famous from Beyonce and Gwyneth Paltrow to Julia Roberts, Nicole Kidman and Scarlett Johansson.
