Health Secretary takes waffles to Cabinet meeting after Piers Morgan jibe

The Health Secretary has taken waffles into Cabinet, after he got caught on camera enjoying the sweet treat for breakfast earlier this week.

The MP for West Suffolk was mocked by Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan on Monday, after cameras recorded him eating before the show went live.

Mr Morgan said: “There’s 356 calories and 16.2g fat – that’s your fat content for the day gone.
“Given we’re a breakfast show, is this your rallying cry to the nation – have a caramel waffle to get you going?”
However, the Health Secretary defended himself on air, replying: “All good things in moderation.”
He later joked about the incident on Twitter, saying: “Nothing wrong with a bit of waffle in politics from time to time.”
