Police are searching a hotel lake for the body of a best man who left wedding guests to go for a late-night swim.
The man, in his late 20s and from Dudley, West Midlands, was seen entering the waters at Patshull Park Hotel, in Pattingham near Wolverhampton, at around 11pm on Friday night.
But fellow attendees at the reception raised the alarm after he failed to emerge from the lake.
Staffordshire Police said that a specialist team had yet to find a body. A family liaison officer was comforting the man's relatives.
Throughout the night, boats were used to search the water alongside a police helicopter and thermal imaging equipment.
In addition, officers and volunteers checked around the edge of the lake for the man.
A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: "These are obviously very upsetting circumstances for the family and friends of the man involved.
"We are doing everything we can to support them and keep them updated about the search."
